  • Couples Therapy

You want amazing things for your relationship and chances are, you're both doing a lot of things right. That might be cold comfort when you're stuck, unfulfilled, or constantly walking on eggshells with each other. But from what I've seen in my ten years working with couples, you have pretty legit strengths. You just need personalized tools to communicate through triggers, find that sweet spot between connection and independence, and get the confidence to take exciting risks together.

I'm a warm, directive, creative therapist trained in multiple couples approaches. I see no reason that we can't have fun while doing hard work, and I borrow ideas from habit psychology to boost the follow-through that makes a difference. Our sessions will be educational, empowering, and energizing; we will geek out on the research around motivation, discuss the wisdom in pop culture references, and uncover truths that are as difficult as they are necessary to face.

Relationship work can be short-term and targeted, open-ended for consistent accountability and sustainable shifts, or supercharged with a weekend intensive to hit the ground running. We'll start with a thirty-minute call to chat about the best option for you; please email me at lizzy@theinterdependencelab.com or call (510) 999-6169 to set up a time.

  • Individual Therapy

Look, you don't need to "need" therapy to justify booking a session. You might be doing pretty well; slaying at work, maintaining rich friendships, and usually pretty sure your relationship is hard for the right reasons.

You're not quite in survival mode, but maybe you're not quite thriving either. I love working with people to get to that next level, whether it's risking more intimate communication with your partner, busting through creative blocks, or upping confidence in general.

I am direct and kind in my feedback, and I specialize in asking those record-scratch questions to help you look at your patterns from different angles.

  • Clinical Consultation

Working with couples is about 70% leaning on theory and our training, and about 3000% getting curious about our own emotional responses and beliefs about relationships so that they don't derail our clients' goals.

I consult with therapists of all levels to support the integration of skills and approaches like Gottman and Developmental Model, while improving clinical leadership by managing feelings of inadequacy, frustration, and vulnerability.

I am certified in EFT Tapping, and often integrate this tool for empowerment, insight, and stress reduction in providers to improve clinical outcomes.

I also deliver engaging and informative training for group practices and therapeutic retreats on topics related to couples therapy, business growth, and imposter syndrome.
